What is Ritual Dance & Drama?

It's not hard to recognize the various performance forms that fall under this heading, but it may very well be difficult to put into words what qualifies something for inclusion in the group.

For the purposes of this site, "ritual dance & drama" refers to the various dances and other performance pieces native (at least in their present forms) to the United Kingdom, and, in particular, England.  Some of the types included go by names that are rather recent, far more recent than the forms themselves, but those are names which are meaningful to the current set of practitioners, and that is what matters for the purposes of this site.

What is Greater Boston?

A seemingly much easier question, but it, too, can become thorny.  Does it include southern New Hampshire and Vermont?  How about western Massachusetts?  Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard, and Nantucket?  For the purpose of this site it will mean a core area roughly defined as the inside of the I-495 circuit, plus an extended area including the additional places mentioned above.  This site will concentrate on and seek to be comprehensive on the core area, but it will also include whatever information I can gather on the extended area.

How Can You Help?

Simple.  This site is only as good as the accuracy of the information it contains, and to get the team information started I relied mainly on data from Jeff Bigler's team listing.  That listing was wonderful, but it is a bit out of date at this point, so it is likely that the information herein will include some old data in need of correction.  Please look for information about your group and recurring events it puts on.  If you see omissions or inaccuracies please submit additional or corrected information.  The more accurate and complete the information contained in this site, the more useful it will be as a resource.

Miscellaneous

All links in this site that go to external websites are set to open in a new browser window, while links that go elsewhere within this site will open in the existing browser window.  Nothing is fool-proof so no guarantees can be made, but some steps will be taken to prevent spammers from harvesting email addresses posted (view the source code for some of what's already up to get an idea).
